2. How secure is the Data Locker?
The Data Locker uses a propietary, patented method that prevents a computer from recognizing your device as a hard drive and reading its data. A very skilled hacker, law enforcement or government agency can recover data from virtually ANY hard drive including the Data Locker.
3. Is my data encrypted?
With the Data Locker Standard Version, your data is not encryted. Encryption requires software, processing power, and will reduce access times. For most users, the Data Locker's security is adequate. If you require encryption we recommend using TrueCrypt, a free open source encyption program in addition to the Data Locker. Also, we will be introducing an encypted version later in 2008.

Yes, the drives are pre-formatted to NTFS. MAC users will need to reformat the drive to FAT32. .

The Data Locker is a USB 2.0 device and your USB port is not USB 2.0. You can still use the drive however you will not have USB 2.0 speeds.
9. Can I use the Data Locker drive with a USB hub?
Yes, if the hub has an external power source.
10.Can Data Locker be shipped internationally?
Yes. Shipping rates will be based on weight and destination.
11.Why does the unit power up but not work?
Make sure the correct prong on the USB cable is plugged in. Also, if you are plugging into a desktop, make sure you plug it into the USB port on the rear of the computer. Note: Not all USB ports (although most are) are powered sufficiently to run the Data Locker.
